Welding is a processing technique that melts (softens) like and dissimilar materials to bond them together. Inappropriate welding conditions can lead to reduced strength and defects. At Nissan ARC, we use the N-ARC method, which enables visualization of the interface, to visualize the higher-order structure and to search for factors that lead to strength degradation and defects.

The N-ARC method visualizes the higher-order structure of the weld interface and, in combination with analysis of the chemical state and physical properties, can be used to analyze the factors that cause differences in strength.
